Event of international prestige, held annually in the city of Granada. Its main purpose is to promote the study, dedication and musical excellence of promising young musicians of piano, violin and cello, bringing together musicians of different ages and nationalities.

Founded by María Herrero, General Director, and Leonel Morales, Artistic Director, this project’s mission is to discover and train musical talents from the early stages to advanced levels. Through “International Competitions María Herrero”, a unique environment has been created where children and young people can grow as artists while sharing their love for music.

With her warm and approachable style, María, who has a long track record in international competitions, addresses participants, families and accompanying persons with a motivating message full of affection. She reminds them that music is a vehicle for transmitting emotions, leaving the nerves that may arise on stage in the background.

On the other hand, Leonel, with his vast experience as a musician, highlights the relevance of this type of meeting in the life of a musician. He provides participants with a solid foundation from childhood, convinced that quality training in the early years is essential for professional success.

The various categories of the competitions demonstrate a firm commitment to the development of musicians at every stage of their apprenticeship.

In addition, the “Leonel Morales and Friends Festival”, which is held simultaneously, offers all contestants the opportunity to actively participate in master classes, as well as to make their debut in the competition’s partner concert halls.

The next editions will be held in July 2025:

– 2nd Edition of the Cello Competition: July 5-7, 2025.

– 4th Edition of the Violin Competition: July 7 to 9, 2025.

– 15th Edition of the Piano Competition: July 10 to 13, 2025.
